If that doesn't work, you could also try this: Uninstall the sound card drivers from Device Manager. Just go to Windows Update, then select Custom, then see if there is a sound card driver listed under the hardware section. After youve installed the driver try to use Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc. Its a Russian driver but it works for some FE models. But more times than not, the Windows Update drivers are good. Click on the 'Free' button at the bottom and wait a minute or whatever until it lets you download the driver. Have you tried Windows Update to see if there's an updated driver being reported there? Sometimes you're better off with the Windows Update drivers.
